General information only
The content of this site is patient education. It describes why fat sits at the flank, how fat is told apart from frame and from skin, and what treatment costs in time, recovery and risk. It is not a diagnosis, it is not a treatment recommendation for any individual, and it does not create a doctor-patient relationship.
No substitute for examination
Whether your own flank is fat, frame or skin, how thick the fat is, how the ribs and pelvis sit and how the skin recoils are findings that can only be established by examining you. Reading this site cannot substitute for that, and a plan made from a website alone is a plan made without information.
Results vary and are not guaranteed
Individual results differ, and no practitioner and no website can guarantee an outcome. Fat cells that remain after a procedure can enlarge again with weight gain, skin that has lost its elasticity is not restored by removing fat beneath it, and the frame underneath does not change. Any statement that appears to promise more than that should be treated with suspicion wherever you encounter it.
If something is wrong after a procedure
If you have had a procedure and develop rapidly increasing swelling or pain, spreading redness, fever, bleeding that does not stop, a wound that opens, or a firm tender lump at the treated area, contact the treating team or seek emergency care immediately rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
